Although the SkyEye2 capture program was designed to operate with the SkyEye2 camera, a certain amount of flexibility has been included to allow the software to

operate with any web camera, USB board camera or notebook computer camera that supports the Microsoft Direct Show driver.

For the most part, the functionality is identical to usage with the SkyEye2 camera with a few exceptions. Namely, long exposure times are not available,

user adjustable gain is not available and most of the advanced dialog settings are unavailable.

When using the software with a camera other than the SkyEye2 camera, select the camera from the Capture Device drop down menu and select an appropriate resolution.

Not all cameras support all resolution. Refer to the cameras user's guide to see which resolutions are supported. If a resolution value is not supported, the SkyEye2 program will

display a dialog message indicating that the selected resolution is not supported.

The Skyeye2 Main GUI appears differently when connected to a third party camera. The 'Snapshot' button can be used to capture a single frame from the camera on-the-fly.

The sequencing operates slightly differently as well. When the Sequence method is started, the camera will continuously capture frames from the video stream at the rate

set in the 'Interval' number spinner control. In the example shown above, the program will capture a new frame every five seconds and save the image numbered image to the

user's hard drive in the same fashion as usual. This feature can be useful for doing time-lapse photography, etc.
