The SkyEye2 program uses a special function to capture "still" images from the "Live" video stream produced by the camera.

In addition to the ability to capture still frames, the function also allows a frame buffer of up to 60 seconds to provide for a longer exposure duration

for added light sensitivity. When each frame is acquired, the resultant image is saved to the user's hard drive as a bitmap. Each bitmap is then

re-loaded and run through several processes. If the image exposure is longer than ten seconds and the "Subtract Dark Frame" check box is ticked, the dark frame bitmap is

subtracted from the original image to remove any "Hot" pixels in the image. Then the image is optionally stamped with a date stamp which includes:

frame number, date, time and other image information. Finally, the image is saved to the user's hard drive in "jpg" format to a date stamped folder with a file name that represents

the numerical order that the image was acquired in. (i.e. Image 1, image 2, etc.).

The program can optionally create videos of certain time periods, or when used in the "Sentinel mode', an "All Night" video which includes all frames that were captured the previous evening.

The software includes a special process that "stitches" the frames together to create a single "time lapse" video. Because the processing power required to create the

video is quite large, it is designed to run on a separate thread so the capture (and other) routines can continue to run smoothly.

Skyeye2 also features a built-in FTP client function that can be used to upload images and videos to web host.
