Connecting to module w/Remote
SkyAlert provides a 'Remote' function to allow the SkyAlert program to read data from a SkyAlert module that is not connected
directly to the computer. In order to use this function, the SkyAlert Remote program must be installed and running on the computer
that the SkyAlert module is connected to. The SkyAlert Remote program generates a text file that can be read
by the SkyAlert program. This function can be useful if several users are sharing a single SkyAlert module and is also part of a built-in backup system
for users that have a back-up SkyAlert module installed.
To use the 'Remote' function, tick the 'Remote' radio button on the 'Settings' menu. A file explorer dialog will then open. Navigate to the location of
the data file being generated by the SkyAlert Remote program. (By default, the file is named "remotedata.txt"). If at some point, you would like to
re-direct the program to read data from a different location, click the Remote File Path button.
If you are using the SkyAlert backup option, tick the 'Enable Backup SkyAlert' check box. If for some reason the main SkyAlert module should cease to
function, the program will automatically switch to the Remote mode and read the data from the backup SkyAlert module.
