Troubleshooting
1.) Cannot connect to ASCOM Remote Driver
This is usually caused by a firewall blocking the data exchange between the driver and the controlling program.
If everything seems to be setup correctly but you are unable to connect, try temporarily disabling the Windows Firewall to see if that is causing the problem.
If the connection is established when the firewall is disabled, then you will need to setup a firewall rule to allow incoming connections to the IP address that your
device is using.
If you have additional anti-virus software installed on your PC, be aware that some of the anti-virus programs also have a firewall which will need to disabled or modified
in order to allow the data exchange to occur. Refer to the anti-virus software documentation to add a rule to allow IP traffic to the IP address and/or LAN port as needed.
2.) Cannot locate one or more program shortcut on desktop
By default, all Interactive Astronomy programs install a desktop "Shortcut". Note that these are specialized shortcuts and should not be deleted.
If a shortcut is accidentally deleted or otherwise missing, a duplicate shortcut can be found in theWindows™ Programs menu under the 'Interactive Astronomy' heading.
