While the ASCOM driver installer does a very good job of installing drivers, it can be somewhat lacking at uninstalling drivers.

To update the SkyRoof driver, it is best practice to remove the old driver first. To completely remove the SkyRoof driver 

(or any ASCOM driver) follow the steps below.


                         SkyRoof ASCOM Driver Update Instructions

1.) Close SkyRoof and/or any other ASCOM programs that are connected to the current SkyRoof driver.

2.) Navigate to Windows Control Panel>Add-Remove programs.

3.) Uninstall the current ASCOM SkyRoof driver titled ASCOM SkyRoof Driver (or similar).

4.) Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ASCOM\Dome

       Note: if using 32-bit windows substitute Program Files (x86) with Program Files


5.) Delete all entries with titles that contain SkyRoof (i.e. SkyRoof.dll, SkyRoof.exe).

6.) Open the ASCOM Profile Explorer (Start>ASCOM Platform 6>Tools>Profile Explorer).

7.) Expand the Dome Drivers Entry then right click on the ASCOM.SkyRoof.Dome entry.

8.) Select 'Delete Key' from the context menu.

9.) Download the new ASCOM SkyRoofHub driver from the Interactive Astronomy web site.   


10.) Install the new ASCOM SkyRoofHub driver and follow the prompts.
